Blow Away Soon G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1995 Awards: "...the book can be enjoyed as much for its glowing illustrations as for its simple narrative...A story with universal appeal.."-- School Library Journal When Sophie came to live with Nana, it seems the wind came too. It blew Sophie's jacket off the line, and rolled her wagon out into the street. It rattled at the windows. "She's just doing her work," say Nana. But Sophie doesn't like the wind. So Nana takes Sophie up into the hills to build a blow-away-soon. They find some good big stones, pile them tall like a tower, and then on top place something special, something for the wind to blow away. But must Sophie give up everything? "Some things are to let go of," Nana promises. "But some things stay. Some things are to keep for a good long time." |
